My Quilting Journey

A lifelong love of quilting, creativity, and community

Hi, I'm Janet, and I'm so glad you're here.

For me, quilting has never been just a hobby. It has been a part of my life for more than 15 years, and along the way it has brought me some of the most wonderful people, friendships, and experiences I could have imagined.

For many years, I had the privilege of owning and building Stitched Quilt Shop in Southern Oregon. What started with a love of fabric and sewing grew into a place where quilters could gather, learn, create, laugh, and share their love of quilting. Through classes, events, retreats, embroidery, sewing, and countless conversations across the cutting table, Stitched became so much more than a quilt shop. It became a community. And I have loved every minute of it.

A new chapter

After many wonderful years, I’m closing the doors of Stitched Quilt Shop and beginning a new chapter.

I'm moving to North Carolina to be closer to my grandchildren. As much as leaving the shop and the community I've built is bittersweet, being closer to my family and getting to be a bigger part of my grandchildren's lives makes this next chapter incredibly special to me.

But one thing isn't changing:

I'm not retiring from quilting.

I'm simply changing the way I do it.

Stitched Quilt

Stitched Quilt is my way of carrying that passion forward.

I'll continue offering longarm quilting, something I've been doing for quilters for more than 15 years. I'll also be sharing sewing and embroidery inspiration, tutorials, projects, favorite products, and the things I'm learning along the way.

My goal is to keep the feeling of community that made Stitched so special—even though I'm moving to a new place.

Whether you've been quilting with me for years or you're just discovering STITCHED quilt for the first time, I hope you'll come along.

There are still quilts to finish, things to create, stories to share, and plenty of sewing ahead.

Thank you for being part of my journey.

With love and happy quilting,

Janet
